Publishing has always been a big passion of mine, when I was young I was fascinated by advertising and magazines, it was when I was taking a walk in west London in Knightsbridge I came across a private bank and wandered in I saw a copy of The Hedge Fund Journal sitting on a coffee table at reception.
I had never seen such a beautiful magazine, I think I was impressed by its size and quality it made you want to pick it up and read it, The Hedge Fund Journal is a journal for those in the hedge fund industry and it costs around £1.000 per annum for a subscription so you can imagine the quality.
I then went on to university and decided to study advertising as I saw myself as a creative, and thought I could lean into my creativity, I left university after two years and decided I would write a book and start my own business, the business I started Merlin Publishing went on to publish I-MAGAZINE, a very unique magazine and one which I inspired design wise.
After publishing the magazine online and in print for twenty years I decided I would venture into contract publishing, publishing magazines and books for premium clients like PHILIPS Auction House, Backes & Strauss, Charbonnel Et Walker and even Starbucks all of whom may be coming in the near future.
It’s important to follow your passions whatever they may be, as your passion, be it nursing, business, floristry, dentistry etc is normally your purpose.
